Gosford Regional Community Services is proudly sponsoring the cultural entertainment at Central Coast Council’s upcoming Cultural Market Day at Gosford Regional Gallery on Sunday 28 May.

The Cultural Market Day will coincide with Reconciliation Week and will be a part of Colours of Country, an Indigenous art exhibition that will run from 27 May to 16 July.

The event will honour the memory of Sean Lonergan, who is the former Chair of Gosford Regional Community Services when the organisation was trading as Wyoming Community Centre.

Executive Officer of Gosford Regional Community Services, Kathy Sokk, says that the organisation is proud to celebrate the talented Aboriginal artists performing at the event and acknowledge the contribution Sean Lonergan made to the Aboriginal Community and to Wyoming Community Centre.

“Sean Lonergan was Chair of our organisation during a period of major restructuring and his leadership saw the organisation regain its position as a respected player in the community service space. The Cultural Market Day is being held in Sean’s memory and we are honoured to support this annual event,” said Kathy.

“Sean played a critical role in promoting Indigenous art in the region. He was also responsible for organising the Reconciliation Art Competition on the Central Coast,” she continued.

The Cultural Market Day will run from 10am to 4pm on Sunday 28 May and will feature a bush tucker BBQ, live entertainment by soloist George Pawley, Aboriginal dancers, a variety of stalls and much more.

“We are delighted to be sponsoring the live entertainment for this wonderful cultural event and we hope to see many families from around the Coast come out to celebrate Indigenous culture,” Kathy concluded.
