Today we had Paralympian Kahi Puru come and visit our Centre to tell us his story.
Kahi lost his leg after a workplace forklift accident. He trains six days a week and represented Australia in powerlifting at the 2000 Sydney Paralympics.
It was a real pleasure to hear about the challenges Kahi has faced and his resilience in the face of adversity. Such a positive and genuine person and a fantastic storyteller.
We were also gifted with Athol Boney’s Acknowledgement of Country and Kahi gave his own demonstration of his welcome Maori style.
